A Night On The Town

Our first night on the town (Chicago) was a visit to Navy Pier on the Great Lake Michigan! This is the Ferris Wheel. We rode it after dark to see the beautiful night skyline of downtown Chicago. You had to board and de-board while it was still moving -sort of like a ski lift- John Jr was trying to make our gondola "rock" and his Dad was not too keene on that idea. All of my shots of the skyline from inside the gondola were bad due to the Plexiglas, but these give you an idea of how elegant it was that evening.

Oh my goodness! When I saw that first picture of John's silhouette , I thought "Hmmmm I didn't know John Sr was going with them." Wow, he's looking very much like his dad. That's not a bad thing or anything, just shocking to me after not seeing you guys in so long.

That's a fabulous ferris wheel, I don't think I've seen one so tall. But of course most of the one's I've seen are carnival ones, not made to be a permanent fixture. What fun!

It's always interesting to see how people look when they turn middle age. John you look very fatherly, but still fun. It looks like you guys had a great time.

Frances, have you ever been on the "London Eye"? I hear it is 450 feet tall and it really looks much more modern than the one we rode in chicago. It was 150 feet tall.
