We made a day trip to my favorite place, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Here's Dixie at the beginning of the trail going to Clingman's Dome lookout (about a 1 mile incline from the parking lot).
Even though it was the middle of June, we all needed jackets!
As you can see, they don't call it the Smokies for nothing! This wasn't a good day for a good view. Nothing but fog!

My parents took me here as a child. They knew how horse-crazy I was, and Dad bravely signed up to accompany me on a horseback tour of the mountains. I was in heaven.
The place is still beautiful. I must get back here someday. Looks as though you all had a great time.
What a great memory. We go usually several times a year. Every season has something magical to offer. I do hope you get a chance to come out for a visit someday, the park is just a quick 2 1/2 hour drive from our place.
