THE GRAND CANYON

Our most recent Adventure was a visit to the Grand Canyon with the boys' Nana and Paw-Paw. This is our youngest son, Eric, looking into the canyon through a viewing glass, as millions have over the years. At only 10 years old, Eric has been to more states than many people visit in a lifetime. Presently, he's visited 17 states and the District of Columbia. After flying to Phoenix to visit their grandparents, we all packed into the 4 Runner and made a day trip to the canyon. There was a bit of nostalgia in the way we traveled. We packed a picnic lunch, loaded the family dog and even played car games to keep ourselves occupied. (FYI- a restaurant that starts with the letter Z is Zaxby's-a chicken place down south) On this trip, Eric decided to leave a part of himself behind...Or should I say, down the canyon! While snacking in the car he managed to lose a pesty loose tooth. We just couldn't resist the temptation for him to hurl his tooth into the Grand Canyon! So, he did. Ever heard the old saying, "I spit a mile into the Grand Canyon"? You get the picture! Just think of Eric if you're watching a National Geographic special next year about archaeologists finding a link to a pre-historic boy in the Grand Canyon! And if you haven't been to the Grand Canyon yet, it's a trip you MUST take! It was a great place to realize that there's more going on in this world than our trivial daily problems.----Lisa
